Adriana Olivera
Director and Pedagogista
Adriana Olivera has over fifteen years experience working in early childhood education as a teacher and director of Los Angeles area pre-schools. She is an expert in the Reggio-Emilia Approach and a well-respected member of the international Reggio community, presenting at conferences and writing journal articles to support advancements in the field. Adriana moved to the United States at fourteen from a small town in Oaxaca, giving her the skills and knowledge to provide culturally responsive, bilingual education for children of diverse backgrounds. Adriana is passionate about developing true partnerships with children, families, educators, and communities across Los Angeles.
Octavia Leclerc-Jones
Atelierista
Octavia is a West LA native and graduate of UC Berkeley in Art History. She has worked in early childhood education for over four years, during which she has developed a love for the social constructivist model and a passion for working with children and families. She co-develops school curriculum, provides engaging environments for children, and leads responsive, special projects to advance learning. Octavia has presented several times at the Early Childhood STEM Conference and has participated in designing exhibitions for the local ECE community.
Fran Fernandez Barrio
Teacher-Researcher
Fran has over twenty years working with children, especially toddlers and preschoolers. She is accredited in the Montessori approach, and is able to bring this knowledge to Sol y Luna to enrich our school. Fran cares deeply about developing a sense of belonging in each child in our community. Originally from Argentina, she earned her Bachelor's in ESL Education. Fran always wants to keep learning, growing, and sharing this journey with others who believe in the incredible potential of young children.
